Where’s My Protection?, 2015

Domestic violence is an issue that has existed in America for centuries. Throughout all the years it has occurred, however, various punishments for various offenses such as fines, reformatory classes, restraining orders, and at most, a loss of basic American rights such as owning firearms and driver’s licenses, are not as severe as they should be. In order to ensure the safety of victims of domestic violence punishments need to be more severe. Jail time must be a part of the consequences for domestic violence. Ensuring the safety of victims by strengthening laws against it will ultimately bring the rates of domestic violence in America down drastically.
