Current Condition of Artwork:

Pressure sensitive tape strips on right edge of verso with pieced, added margins and glassine and linen tapes along top edge. Adhesive residue with attachments. Minor abrasions/skinning along edges and in margins of support. Random minor accretions. Minor delamination along margins of support and image margins in the lower right corner. Minor surface grime. Minor cockling in margins. Random minor losses and cracking in image. Abrasions/burnishing especially along margins of image. Green trees in upper left and gold are powdery. Random minor accretions throughout and in the bottom corner of the margin.

Conservation Treatment Proposed:

  • Consolidate flaking paint.
  • Reduce pressure sensitive tape and residue mechanically.
  • Readhere delaminating support layers.
  • Reduce attachments on verso (optional).
