Current Condition of Artwork:

Four wormholes in image and all corners have pinholes and losses. Abrasions and skinning in upper center verso. Tears and creases in black border and edges. Cleavage and flaking associated with inpainted losses. Random minor accretions, some in red tunic.

Conservation Treatment Proposed:

  • Consolidate flaking paint.
  • Reduce pressure sensitive tape, adhesive mechanically.
  • Mend tears and reinforce creases.
  • Fill/tone losses (optional).
