Poverty and Education, 2015

Linocut

In this print you see two people divided by a tree. The tree is supposed to represent the tree of knowledge and the apples knowledge as well. The two people are both reaching for the apples but only one is capable of obtaining it. The person capable of obtaining it has money as a support and the other person has no support. You may also notice that the person with money supporting them is in the light while the other person is in darkness. Overall this print is supposed to give the message that students with higher income have a better time achieving educational goals and children in poverty struggle to get an education because of setback created because of poverty.
